1. Who we are
1000 Islands Marketing is a sole proprietorship owned by Sarah Ovington. We are located in Brockville, Ontario, Canada. You can reach us by phone at +1 343-307-7131 or by email at info@1000islandsmarketing.com.
We also operate grassrootsmedia.io, ai.grassrootsmedia.io, get.1000islandsmarketing.com, and 1000islandsthrive.com. This policy applies to 1000islandsmarketing.com and to those related sites unless a site posts its own policy. 1000islandsthrive.com has its own privacy policy, and this policy does not replace it.
2. What we collect
- Contact and booking forms. Your name, business name, email address, phone number, message, and appointment details.
- Checkout. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email address, billing status, and the last four digits of your card. We never receive your full card number.
- Survey and quiz responses, where we offer them.
- Technical data. IP address, browser, device, pages viewed, and the site that referred you.
3. How we collect it
- Forms on our sites.
- Stripe checkout.
- Phone and text conversations that you start or that you consent to.
- The analytics tools listed in section 6.
4. How we use it
We use personal information to respond to inquiries, deliver and bill for services, schedule appointments, send service messages, and improve our sites. With your consent, we also use it to send marketing messages.
5. Text messages (SMS) and calls
- We send text messages only to people who have given consent through a form on our site or by texting us first.
- Message types include appointment confirmations and reminders, replies to inquiries, account and billing notices, and marketing messages where consent was given.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not cancel your service.
- Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent are not shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
- Calls. We may call the number you provide in response to an inquiry or booking. You can ask us to stop at any time.
6. Tools and third parties we use
- GoHighLevel (CRM, forms, calendar, messaging). Processes contact details, form submissions, appointment details, and the content of messages we send and receive. GoHighLevel privacy policy
- Stripe (payments). Processes your name, email address, billing details, and payment card information. Stripe privacy policy
- Cloudflare (hosting, security, and Turnstile anti-spam). Processes IP address, browser details, and request data for every page load. Cloudflare privacy policy
- Google Analytics (site analytics). Processes device and browser data, pages viewed, referring site, and approximate location. Google privacy policy
- Microsoft Clarity (session analytics). Records how visitors interact with our pages, including clicks and scrolling, along with device and browser data. Microsoft privacy statement
- Meta Pixel and Conversions API (ad measurement). Processes page views, form and purchase events, and, where available, hashed contact details to measure our advertising. Meta privacy policy
7. Cookies and analytics
Our sites set the following cookies and similar identifiers:
- Google Analytics cookies (such as _ga) to tell visitors apart and measure how the site is used.
- Microsoft Clarity cookies (such as _clck and _clsk) to record a visit as a session.
- Meta Pixel cookies (such as _fbp) to measure ad results and build advertising audiences.
- Cloudflare may set security cookies (such as cf_clearance) to protect the site from abuse.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse all cookies or clear them at any time. Some features, such as checkout and spam protection, may not work with all cookies blocked.
To control ad personalization, visit Meta ad preferences and Google ad settings. Google also offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from collecting data.
8. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers listed above to run the business, when required by law or a valid legal request, or at your direction.
9. Data retention
We keep personal information as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our legal and tax obligations. The Canada Revenue Agency requires business records to be kept for six years from the end of the tax year they relate to. After that, we delete or anonymize the information.
10. Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or withdraw your consent. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide a service to you. Residents of other jurisdictions may have additional rights under their local laws.

11. Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)
We send commercial email only with express or implied consent as defined by CASL. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link and our contact details. We process unsubscribe requests within 10 business days, as CASL requires.
12. Cross-border data
Some of the providers listed above store data in the United States. The laws there may differ from Canada's, and authorities in those countries may be able to access your data under their own laws.
13. Children
Our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Changes
We post updates to this policy on this page with a new effective date.
